For the past 11 weeks, I’ve been working 16 hours a day, 7 days a week and version 6 of MochaCity.com is almost complete. That’s right, there has been 6 versions stemming from the very first MochaLounge.com design.

I’ve put away an average of 3 Redbulls a day for 90 days… that’s approximately, 270 cans. Needless to say my kidney’s are pretty pissed at me. And not only that, but I’ve gotten very little exercise over that same period of time. I’m guessing I’ve gained about 15lbs of blub over that same period. Sigh, the things I do to myself to keep this dream going are retarded. I swear, if it weren’t for Vanity being by my side I would have made myself a Drano Milkshake half way thru this damn project.
The question is, ‘is it worth it, will it be worth in the future?’ Well, the new version is almost done. I have about a week’s worth of work left. (If my body holds up) And then we’ll find out. We’ll find out if MochaCity.com has a chance to keep competing with the top urban sites on the Internet, with the smallest staff ever.

Okay, let me stop bullshitting. I don’t want to compete, I want to win. I want MochaCity to be the BEST. I owe it to all of those people who have been going to Meet & Greets, signing in on the daily for 4 years, supporting me and Mocha’s staff for thru thick and thin. I owe it to my children who have pretty much had half a dad for a few months. I owe it to my former partners. And I owe it to vanity who didn’t know what the hell she got herself into. I swear I shouldn’t be making someone so beautiful, work so damn hard. And finally, I owe it to myself to WIN. XO don’t play for second. I never have, never will.

I just pray that I can deliver. Once again, we’ll soon see.

Changes... for Better or Worse

As a CEO, you have so many people to answer to... so many people that rely on you. And when things get hard, it’s up to you to make the right decisions for the group even though some may be hurt. That's the role and the responsibility I have.

A couple of months ago, the company was stagnant, walking dead. My guys were out of juice. The 3+ plus years grinding day and night had taken its toll. Everyone was working at about 50% capacity even though no one wanted to admit it. And my frustrations were getting bigger and bigger. We were losing money, barely making payroll... IF we made payroll at all. So what's a CEO to do....?

I did the hardest thing I've had to do in a very long time, let'em go. The founders had their ownership and they were out of juice... there was no reason to keep trying to feed horses that were tired of running. My thought was, it's in their best interest to let them go put their energies elsewhere because they couldn't push Mocha the way she needed to be pushed. As the head coach, I had to bench my starters and try to save the game for the entire team. So that’s what I did.

Fuxor has moved on and is doing well with his new site, theRundownTV.com. I'm really proud of him. He took what he learned with Mocha, found new energy for a new product, and he's playing with the big boy's on his own now. How could I note be proud.

Everyone else is doing their thing. Mocha is now just a skeleton crew consisting of Vanity and myself.

Yes, that made things super hard for us. For the past 3 months we've been working day and night just trying to keep the site moving forward. BUT, the bright side is people aren't relying on Mocha for money and they've found new energy to push hard with their respective new projects.

Is it all going to work out? That remains to be seen. It's been nearly 3 months since it all happen so we'll soon see.
