Hi this is George Cook the host of the weekly author interview program LTH Weekly. I would like to invite you to listen to my interview with Sarah Weathersby the author of "A Motherless Child" You can listen to the interview by clicking link below:

A Motherless Child

Imagine you gave a baby up for adoption forty years ago, and after years of trying to find her, she finds you. Now come the hard questions. She's healthy, beautiful, and successful, but she wants to know why you gave her away and why you didn't marry her father. And there is also the unspoken question of "What kind of black woman gives her baby away?" How do you explain to her that giving her away was the best gift you could offer? This is Sarah Weathersby's first published work, a coming-of-age-in-the-sixties-single-black-pregnant and on the way to Germany, memoir.

Hi this is George Cook the host of the weekly author interview program LTH Weekly. I would like to invite you to listen to my interview with Annette Hoggs-Jackson the author of "Poems from the Heart". Listen to her motivation for writing and listen to her recite one of her poems You can listen to the interview by clicking link below:

LTH WEEKLY

In this brief book of 100 poems Annette Hoggs-Jackson transfers all of her human kindness into simple gifts of short poems. These poems, primarily written in rhyming couplets, address particular issues but are written to give reassurance and hope. Her message is based on her conviction that her talents are a gift form God and her poems sanctify that stance. These are not great works of art, but they are honest, unassuming words from the heart and from a very generous spirit. And that is refreshing and makes them significant - especially in today's chaotic world. Grady Harp, August 05
